I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we meet, the Boon Wurrung/Bunurong and the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

I recognise their deep and enduring spiritual connections to the lands, oceans, waterways, air, and sky, and their cultures as the oldest continuous living cultures in human history. I acknowledge that the land we live, work, and play on was never ceded and always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.

I recognise the impact of our colonial past, which continues to affect Indigenous communities today – and I say sorry for what we have done. Despite this history, the strength, resilience, and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people remains unbroken.

I commit to the process of Makarrata - a journey of truth-telling and reconciliation, acknowledging our collective histories and listening deeply to Indigenous stories and experiences, and I support the Uluru Statement from the Heart. I honor Indigenous leaders and strive to contribute to a future that is just and equitable for all communities.
